After Glen’s lecture, I realize that although survey might be easy to design and implement, it is very hard to do it well. The survey researchers face many serious challenges. For example, the low participation rate, question and questionnaire design, sampling, and high costs. In addition, there are so many variables that could affect the outcomes of the survey. For example, the way questions are written, the personality of the respondents, the way interviewers present the questions, and the time and place of the survey being conducted.
On the other hand, I really like the qualitative information that offers by survey. It can complement the quantitative data and make the research results more comprehensive.
